Ford's Special Vehicle Team (SVT) produced a naturally aspirated 5.4-liter V-8 pumping out 385 horsepower, good for 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds, the quarter-mile in 13.2 and a 170-mph top speed. The "R" stands for race, you lost any and all creature comforts in this car such as A/C, radio and rear seat delete to name a few weight saving items. As a true, lightweight R-model, it also had track-capable brakes, able to make a full stop from 60 mph in just 127 feet. The Cobra R comes equipped with Recaro racing seats, side-exit dual exhaust, a front air splitter and high-mount rear wing.
